Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-06

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Crawlwise, the operator of Crawlwise Data (“Crawlwise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Contact: Crawlwise Data support — crawlwise.support@gmail.com

By purchasing credits or a subscription plan, creating an API key, accessing the Service, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and “you” includes that entity.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

For purposes of these Terms:

“Service” means Crawlwise Data's website, APIs, documentation, monitoring functionality, webhooks, account systems, and related services.

“API” means the HTTP API endpoints made available by Crawlwise.

“Credits” means prepaid usage units that may be consumed when you successfully use certain API functionality.

“Plan” means a recurring monthly subscription plan offered by Crawlwise.

“Pack” means a one-time purchase of Credits.

“Monitor” means a configured recurring check of a supported website resource or signal.

“Results” means data returned by the Service in response to your requests, including information retrieved from third-party websites.

“Your Data” means information, configurations, URLs, monitor settings, webhook URLs, account information, and other data you submit to the Service, excluding Crawlwise's own software, documentation, fingerprints, systems, and other materials.

2. The Service

Crawlwise provides HTTP API endpoints that can, at your request, retrieve publicly available information from websites, including sitemaps, feeds, and individual web pages, and return structured information such as URLs, feed items, detected technologies, and supported change-monitoring events.

The current Service may include:

  • technology-stack detection;
  • RSS, Atom, RDF, and JSON Feed processing;
  • sitemap processing;
  • website and content monitoring;
  • change detection;
  • webhook notifications;
  • account and usage information; and
  • related developer tools and integrations.

The specific functionality, limits, pricing, and API behavior are described in the documentation and pricing information published by Crawlwise.

We may add, modify, discontinue, or replace functionality from time to time. We will not intentionally remove a paid feature during an active paid period in a way that materially deprives you of the principal benefit of the paid Service without reasonable notice, except where necessary for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

3. Eligibility and Authority

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Service.

If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all laws and regulations applicable to you.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You are responsible for:

  • the URLs and requests you submit;
  • your use of Results;
  • your applications and products that use the Service;
  • your customers and users, if applicable; and
  • complying with applicable laws, third-party website terms, intellectual-property rights, privacy requirements, and other applicable restrictions.

You must not use the Service to:

  1. violate any law or regulation;
  2. infringe another person's intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights;
  3. collect, infer, profile, or process personal information in violation of applicable privacy law;
  4. overload, attack, disrupt, degrade, or interfere with Crawlwise or any third-party website or service;
  5. conduct denial-of-service attacks, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, security probing, or similar activity against Crawlwise or third-party systems;
  6. attempt to access private networks, internal services, cloud metadata endpoints, localhost resources, private IP addresses, or other restricted infrastructure through the Service;
  7. circumvent, disable, defeat, or attempt to bypass Crawlwise's URL-safety controls;
  8. circumvent robots.txt, a website owner's opt-out request, bot protections, access controls, authentication, CAPTCHA systems, or other technical restrictions;
  9. intentionally cause Crawlwise to make requests that you are not authorized to make;
  10. circumvent Service limits, including through account farming, IP rotation, automated trial abuse, or other techniques intended to obtain additional free usage;
  11. use stolen, fraudulent, or unauthorized payment methods;
  12. purchase Credits or Plans with the intention of initiating fraudulent chargebacks or otherwise avoiding payment;
  13. resell raw or substantially unmodified access to the API as a competing API or proxy service without our written permission; or
  14. use the Service in a manner that creates an unreasonable security, legal, operational, or reputational risk to Crawlwise or third parties.

Using Crawlwise as a component of your own application, SaaS product, data product, research system, AI agent, or other software is generally permitted, provided your use complies with these Terms.

5. Crawling and Third-Party Websites

Crawlwise is designed to access publicly available website resources.

We respect robots.txt instructions and honor valid website-owner opt-out requests. Crawlwise identifies its crawler where applicable as CrawlwiseBot.

We do not intentionally:

  • log into websites;
  • submit forms;
  • execute website JavaScript for the purpose of bypassing access restrictions;
  • bypass CAPTCHAs;
  • bypass authentication;
  • bypass bot-protection systems; or
  • circumvent other access controls.

A request may fail because a website blocks Crawlwise, disallows crawling through robots.txt, is unavailable, times out, returns an error, or otherwise cannot be accessed.

Third-party websites are controlled by their respective owners and operators. Crawlwise does not control, endorse, or guarantee any third-party website or its content, availability, accuracy, legality, or terms.

Results reflect information available to Crawlwise at the time of retrieval and may be incomplete, stale, inaccurate, unavailable, or subsequently changed.

You are responsible for determining whether your intended use of Results is lawful and permitted by the applicable third-party website.

6. Your Responsibilities for Results

Results may contain information originating from third-party websites.

You are responsible for how you use, store, display, reproduce, distribute, publish, or otherwise process Results.

For example, if a feed or webpage contains copyrighted material, personal information, trademarks, or other protected content, you are responsible for determining whether your intended use is permitted.

Crawlwise does not grant you ownership of third-party content merely because the Service returned it to you.

You must not represent third-party website content as being owned, created, endorsed, or guaranteed by Crawlwise.

7. Service Limits

Use of the Service is subject to the rate, concurrency, request-size, timeout, monitor, credit, trial, and other limits published in the documentation, pricing information, or your applicable Plan.

We may change technical limits when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, prevent abuse, or accommodate infrastructure changes.

We will not intentionally reduce the published paid limits of your current paid billing period without notice, except when necessary to address abuse, security issues, legal requirements, or emergencies.

Exceeding a limit may cause a request to fail, be rejected, delayed, or require a higher Plan.

8. Credits and Pricing

The Service is prepaid.

Credits may be purchased through one-time Packs or monthly Plans.

Unless otherwise stated, 1 Credit = $0.0001 USD.

Current prices and API costs are published on the pricing page and through the Service's pricing information.

Taxes may be calculated and collected by Stripe at checkout where applicable.

Successful requests

Calls are charged only when they successfully complete and produce a billable result at the applicable published price.

The following generally do not consume Credits:

  • invalid requests;
  • blocked requests;
  • robots.txt refusals;
  • failed fetches;
  • timeouts;
  • HTTP failures where applicable;
  • Crawlwise internal errors; and
  • other requests that the Service identifies as non-billable.

The applicable API documentation controls where a particular endpoint has special billing behavior.

Credit expiration

Credits purchased through Packs do not expire while your account remains active.

Plan Credits expire one month after the end of the billing period in which they were granted, unless the applicable Plan or pricing page states otherwise.

Credits:

  • have no cash value;
  • are not transferable between accounts except with our approval;
  • are not redeemable for cash except where expressly provided or required by law; and
  • may not be sold or transferred for value without our permission.

Price changes

We may change prices by providing at least 30 days' notice on the Service or pricing page.

Price changes will not reduce Credits that you already purchased.

For subscriptions, a new Plan price will apply no earlier than the next applicable renewal after the required notice period.

9. Free Trials and Free Usage

We may offer free demos, trial Credits, or other promotional usage.

Unless otherwise stated, current trial keys may include a limited one-time grant of Credits and lower usage limits.

Trial usage is intended for evaluation of the Service, not for circumventing paid usage.

You may not create multiple accounts, rotate identities or networks, use disposable or alias identities, or otherwise manipulate the trial system to obtain additional free usage beyond the stated limits.

We may revoke or restrict trial access where we reasonably believe it is being abused.

Purchasing Credits generally ends the account's trial status.

We may modify or discontinue promotional programs at any time.

10. Subscriptions, Auto-Renewal, and Cancellation

Monthly Plans are billed in advance and automatically renew each month until canceled.

By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your selected payment method for the applicable recurring Plan price.

The price, billing frequency, Credits included, limits, and material subscription terms will be presented before you subscribe.

Plan Credits

Each successful paid monthly invoice adds the applicable Plan Credits.

Unless otherwise stated, Plan Credits are used before Pack Credits.

Plan changes

Upgrades may take effect immediately and may include prorated charges and Credits.

Downgrades generally take effect at the next renewal.

The exact treatment of Credits and limits for a particular Plan change will be shown at the time of the change where applicable.

Cancellation

You may cancel a subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal or the cancellation mechanism provided by Crawlwise.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless otherwise stated.

You retain access to the applicable Plan and its included benefits through the end of that period and will not be charged for another renewal after cancellation.

We do not provide partial refunds for unused time in a billing period except where required by law or expressly provided by us.

Cancellation should be straightforward and may be completed online through the available cancellation mechanism.

11. Failed Subscription Payments

If a recurring subscription payment fails, Stripe may retry the payment and may ask you to update your payment method.

While an invoice remains unpaid:

  • no new Plan Credits are added for that unpaid invoice;
  • existing Credits may remain usable, subject to the normal rules;
  • access may be restricted if the account becomes delinquent; and
  • the subscription may terminate if payment cannot be successfully collected.

The exact retry and payment-processing behavior may be controlled by Stripe.

12. Refunds

All purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or expressly stated in these Terms.

We will correct genuine billing or delivery errors.

Examples include:

Duplicate payment

If you were charged twice for the same purchase because of a verified duplicate transaction, we will refund the duplicate amount.

Credits not delivered

If you paid for Credits and they were not delivered to your account, we will either deliver the Credits or, if delivery is not reasonably possible, refund the applicable payment.

Verified billing error

If the Service charged an incorrect amount or applied an incorrect published usage price, we will correct the error through a Credit adjustment or refund, as appropriate.

Chargebacks and payment disputes

If a payment is refunded, reversed, or disputed, we may remove the Credits associated with the refunded or disputed amount, including Credits that have already been used.

This may result in a negative Credit balance.

While a payment dispute or negative balance remains unresolved, we may suspend API access.

If the dispute is resolved in Crawlwise's favor, we will restore the affected Credits to the extent appropriate.

We only take these actions when the payment processor reports an actual refund, reversal, or dispute.

If you believe a billing error occurred, please contact us before initiating a payment dispute. We will attempt to resolve legitimate billing issues promptly.

13. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, terminate, or revoke API keys when reasonably necessary because of:

  • violation of these Terms;
  • abuse of the Service;
  • credible abuse reports;
  • suspected fraud;
  • payment disputes;
  • security concerns;
  • legal requirements;
  • threats to Crawlwise or third parties; or
  • other circumstances where continued access creates a material risk.

Where reasonably practical, we will provide an explanation and an opportunity to address the issue before termination.

We may take immediate action when necessary to prevent abuse, security incidents, fraud, legal violations, or harm.

If we terminate your account without cause and not because of your violation of these Terms, we will refund the unused portion of paid Credits where reasonably calculable, except where prohibited or impractical due to applicable law or payment-processing restrictions.

You may stop using the Service at any time.

Account deletion may terminate subscriptions and may cause unused promotional or Plan Credits to be forfeited according to the applicable expiration rules. Pack Credits that are otherwise valid may be treated according to the account-deletion process disclosed at the time of deletion.

14. API Keys and Account Security

You are responsible for protecting your API keys and account credentials.

Anyone who possesses a valid API key may be able to consume your Credits or access functionality available to that key.

You are responsible for activity performed using your API keys until they are revoked or rotated, except to the extent the misuse resulted from Crawlwise's own failure.

Crawlwise stores API keys using one-way hashed representations and does not retain existing keys in a form that allows us to display the original secret.

If you lose a key, use the available recovery process to issue a replacement.

If a key is exposed, compromised, or suspected of being compromised, rotate or revoke it immediately.

Do not publish API keys in:

  • public repositories;
  • client-side browser code;
  • public documentation;
  • logs;
  • screenshots; or
  • other publicly accessible locations.

15. Your Data

You retain ownership of Your Data.

You grant Crawlwise a limited right to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and otherwise use Your Data only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Service;
  • process your requests;
  • operate monitors and webhooks;
  • maintain and secure accounts;
  • prevent abuse and fraud;
  • troubleshoot and improve reliability;
  • comply with legal obligations; and
  • enforce these Terms.

We may use aggregated or de-identified operational information that does not reasonably identify you or your confidential information for purposes such as analytics, security, reliability, and service improvement.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit URLs, webhook destinations, content, and other information to Crawlwise.

Do not submit passwords, authentication credentials, private keys, highly sensitive personal information, or other information that Crawlwise does not require to provide the Service.

16. Webhooks

If you configure a webhook, you are responsible for ensuring that the destination URL is controlled by you or that you otherwise have authorization to receive the webhook.

You are responsible for securing your webhook endpoint and verifying webhook signatures where Crawlwise provides signature functionality.

Crawlwise may retry webhook delivery according to its documented behavior.

We do not guarantee that a webhook destination will accept, process, or retain every delivery.

You should design your application to tolerate duplicate, delayed, reordered, or failed webhook deliveries where applicable.

17. Third-Party Services

The Service depends in part on third-party providers.

Current providers may include:

  • Stripe for payments, invoices, and billing functionality;
  • Netlify for hosting, serverless infrastructure, and related services; and
  • third-party websites and infrastructure necessary to retrieve publicly available information.

Third-party services may experience outages, restrictions, changes, or failures outside Crawlwise's control.

Your use of third-party services may also be subject to their separate terms and policies.

We are not responsible for failures caused solely by third-party services or websites.

18. Intellectual Property

Crawlwise owns or has appropriate rights to the Service, including its software, APIs, documentation, branding, interfaces, and original materials.

Except for the limited rights necessary to use the Service under these Terms, no ownership rights are transferred to you.

You retain ownership of Your Data.

Third-party website content contained in Results remains subject to the rights of its respective owners.

Crawlwise's technology-detection fingerprints may incorporate or be derived from open-source datasets or other materials used under applicable licenses. Those licenses remain applicable to the relevant materials.

You may use the Service and Results as permitted by these Terms and applicable law, but you may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute Crawlwise's proprietary software, documentation, branding, or systems without permission.

19. Feedback

If you provide suggestions, ideas, bug reports, feature requests, or other feedback about the Service, you grant Crawlwise permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, including to improve, develop, and market the Service.

You do not transfer ownership of your underlying intellectual property merely by providing feedback.

20. Availability and Service Changes

We work to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Unless we separately agree to an SLA in writing, the Service is provided without an uptime guarantee.

The Service depends on:

  • our infrastructure;
  • payment processors;
  • hosting providers;
  • network providers;
  • DNS;
  • third-party websites;
  • external APIs or services; and
  • other systems outside our complete control.

We may perform maintenance, upgrades, emergency repairs, security work, or other changes that temporarily affect availability.

We may add, modify, or discontinue features.

If we permanently discontinue the Service, we will provide at least 30 days' notice on the Service where reasonably practical.

21. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL RESULTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, AND THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR COMPLETE.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE;
  • A WEBSITE WILL BE AVAILABLE;
  • A WEBSITE WILL PERMIT CRAWLING;
  • A CHANGE WILL ALWAYS BE DETECTED;
  • A WEBHOOK WILL ALWAYS BE DELIVERED;
  • THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR PARTICULAR REQUIREMENTS; OR
  • THE SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME.

You are responsible for independently evaluating Results before relying on them for material decisions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

22. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRAWLWISE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRAWLWISE'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

  1. THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CRAWLWISE FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR
  2. $100 USD.

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory of liability, including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

23. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Crawlwise and its owner from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from or related to:

  • your unlawful use of the Service;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your violation of another person's rights;
  • your misuse of Results;
  • content or data you submit to the Service; or
  • your products, applications, or services that use Crawlwise.

We will provide reasonable notice of an indemnified claim and reasonable cooperation at your expense.

You may not settle an indemnified claim in a way that admits liability by Crawlwise or imposes obligations on Crawlwise without our written consent.

24. Force Majeure

Crawlwise will not be responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • natural disasters;
  • war;
  • terrorism;
  • civil unrest;
  • government action;
  • internet or telecommunications failures;
  • widespread infrastructure outages;
  • cyberattacks or security incidents not caused by our failure to use reasonable safeguards;
  • third-party service failures;
  • labor disputes; or
  • other events beyond our reasonable control.

This does not excuse payment obligations for amounts already properly due.

25. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also subject to Crawlwise's Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy describes how Crawlwise collects, uses, stores, and handles personal information.

If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy concerning privacy practices, the Privacy Policy controls for those privacy matters.

26. Abuse Reports and Website-Owner Requests

To report abuse, suspected misuse, or crawler behavior, contact:

Crawlwise Data support — crawlwise.support@gmail.com

You may also use the abuse/reporting mechanism provided on the Crawlwise website.

Website owners may request that Crawlwise stop crawling their websites as described on the CrawlwiseBot page.

We may investigate reports and take appropriate action, including blocking URLs, domains, accounts, or API keys.

27. Notices

We may provide notices concerning the Service through:

  • the Crawlwise website;
  • your account;
  • email;
  • the dashboard;
  • the documentation; or
  • other reasonable electronic means.

You are responsible for maintaining an accurate email address associated with your account.

Notices sent to the email address associated with your account may be treated as delivered when sent.

28. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

We will update the “Last updated” date when we make changes.

For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, generally at least 14 days before the changes take effect, unless a shorter period is necessary because of legal requirements, security issues, abuse prevention, or other circumstances requiring immediate action.

Changes will not apply retroactively unless required by law or necessary to protect the Service from fraud or abuse.

If you continue using the Service after updated Terms take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.

If you do not agree with a material change, you may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.

29. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent, except as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of substantially all of your assets where permitted by law.

We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or transfer of the Crawlwise business.

30. No Waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.

A waiver is effective only if made in writing by the party granting the waiver.

31. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

32. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, applicable pricing information, documentation, and any separate written agreement between you and Crawlwise, constitute the entire agreement concerning your use of the Service and supersede prior agreements concerning the same subject matter.

If there is a conflict:

  1. a separately signed written agreement between you and Crawlwise controls for the subject matter it specifically addresses;
  2. these Terms control generally;
  3. the Privacy Policy controls for privacy-specific matters; and
  4. documentation and pricing information control for technical behavior and published pricing where applicable.

33. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms will be governed by the laws of Arkansas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

To the extent permitted by law, disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Pulaski County, Arkansas, and you and Crawlwise consent to their jurisdiction.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency or injunctive relief where legally available.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
