Crawlwise vs Visualping

Visualping is a strong choice when you want a human to see a webpage change. Crawlwise Data is built for when software needs a structured, signed event — new sitemap pages, new feed items, or a tech-stack shift — without you running the cron.

Visualping® is a trademark of its owner. This page uses the name only to describe the category and how Crawlwise differs. We are not affiliated with Visualping.

Short answer

Choose Visualping if…

You need visual / screenshot-style monitoring, a point-and-click UI for non-developers, or alerts that a human will read in email/Slack without writing code.

Choose Crawlwise if…

You want an API and signed HTTPS webhooks, prepaid credits, MCP/OpenAPI for AI agents, and change events for sitemaps, feeds, and tech stacks — with cheap “nothing changed” checks.

Crawlwise does not replace Visualping’s visual diff product. We don’t claim pixel-perfect screenshot monitoring. Our wedge is structured website change alerts for builders.

Who should pick what

Pick Crawlwise when the job is “notify my app”

  • Competitive intel bots that need new pages or new posts as JSON events
  • AI agents that should wake on a feed or tech-stack change (MCP / OpenAPI)
  • You already have Slack/email — you just need a reliable webhook ingress
  • You want prepaid credits and clear per-change economics

Pick Visualping when the job is “show a human what changed”

  • Legal / compliance teams watching a clause on a rendered page
  • Marketing watching a competitor homepage layout or price badge visually
  • No engineering time for webhooks or signature verification

Many teams use both: Visualping for human visual watch lists, Crawlwise for automated pipelines.

FAQ

Is Crawlwise a Visualping clone?

No. Visualping focuses on visual website monitoring for people. Crawlwise focuses on API-first change alerts (sitemap, feed, tech stack) delivered as signed webhooks to software.

Do you do screenshot diffs?

Not today. If you need pixel or visual-area diffs, use a visual monitor. If you need structured URL/feed/tech events, use Crawlwise.

How do webhooks stay trustworthy?

Every change POST includes X-Crawlwise-Signature (HMAC). Fetch your secret with GET /v1/webhooks/secret. See the docs.

Can AI agents use this?

Yes — OpenAPI, llms.txt, and the local crawlwise-mcp package. More: change alerts for AI agents.
